October Green Belt Walk on the Greater Manchester Ringway (Stage 2)

In fine autumnal weather 35 people of all ages gathered at Sale Water Park to walk stage two of the GM Ringway. The route took us through Chorlton Water Park, Kenworthy Woods and on to Didsbury – passing through significant areas of Green Belt land.
Chorlton Park litter pick - 12th September

West Lancashire Neighbourhood Planning introductory workshop
Written by CPRE LancashireCPRE West Lancashire District Group is hosting an introductory workshop on Neighbourhood Planning on Wednesday 22nd May, 7.30pm, in Ormskirk. The evening is free to attend with a retiring collection towards costs, but booking is essential.
The month of May sees the Greater Manchester Walking Festival take place, offering 400 guided walks in various locations. The festival aims to showcase and publicise the great walking opportunities and groups there are in Greater Manchester and to encourage people to walk more and more often.

More and better regeneration of brownfield land: March 26th

CPRE Lancashire held their first Neighbourhood Planning evening at The War Memorial Hall in Samlesbury last night. CPRE Lancashire's Vice Chair Lindsay Beaton opened the evening, giving a brief explanation as to how CPRE can help with Neighbourhood Planning. This was followed by a very enlightening talk given by our Planning Manager Jackie Copley, on the topic of how to proceed through the minefield that is Neighbourhood Planning. After a some refreshments Jackie took questions from the floor. From the positive comments received, CPRE Lancashire hope to run further evening training sessions soon.
CPRE Lancashire members are invited to an informative talk by Lindsay Beaton as we stroll around Mere Sands Wood, a Lancashire Wildlife Trust site, on the afternoon of Wednesday 12th September. Tea and cakes will be in abundance in the meeting room following our walk, with a very brief AGM at the end!
